to the official "web lair" of TaraFlyPhotos, home of fantasy artist TaraFly and my managerie of cat creatures.
Humble as it is, it's cozy and the home fires always burn, thanks to my dragon-cat Dominic. (like most cats, he's good at keeping my bed
and toes toasty!)
Many of the pieces in my gallery have been created digitally through photomanipulation, which for those 2% of my readers
who aren't familiar with the process, essentially means: they were created on my computer, using a Photoshop program, by taking elements from
various photographs and blending them together to transform an ordinary housecat into a dragon, unicorn, or other monster with wings, horns,
or a mermaid tail. You will find my own portraits, and those of my family and friends, intermingled with the monsters.
My obsession with cats has largely influenced my work, however I also find inspiration in historical time periods and classic
literature. My latest project, The Regency Cat Portrait series, is a collection of acrylic portrait paintings based on Jane Austen novels.
I sell my artwork in many locations and websites, in a variety of formats, including: fine art Giclee prints (using archival pigmented inks),
glossy greeting and note cards, postcards, T-shirts and totebags, ornaments, journal covers, ceramic tiles, calendars, and even postage stamps!
