to the Official Web Lair of TaraFlyPhotos, home to portrait artist TaraFly and my managerie of cat creatures.
Humble as it is, it's cozy and the home fires always burn, thanks to my dragon-cat Dominic. (like most cats, he's good at keeping my bed
and toes toasty!)
The artwork found in my gallery is a combination of traditional paintings, illustrations, and photomanipulated pieces (also known as
photo collage). My obsession with Cats, reflected in the majority of my work, represents my idealistic world... a world ruled over, and
inhabited by, an anthromorphic race of Cat creatures.
Paintings included in The Regency Collection, The Classical Collection, and The Service Series are merely a small window into my
alternative universe... where all the great works of literature and music, all scientific advances and historical moments, were the genius
creations of exceptional Cats. The 18th and 19th century eras, including the romantic Regency time in which Jane Austen lived, has been
a particular influence.
Alas by no means perfect, a few of our failures and holocausts might also be replicated by the selfish and territorial nature of the
beast... I do strive, however, to paint an optimistic portrait of a better world.
Having once lived in a country house shared with 15 Cats, I can testify that they are social and accepting creatures, and although
colors only run fur-deep, each color makes a Cat beautiful!
I sell my artwork in various locations, and in a variety of formats, including: fine art Giclee prints (using archival pigmented inks),
glossy greeting and note cards, postcards, T-shirts and totebags, magnets, journals and binders, calendars, and even postage stamps!
